Ethics and Values

UC San Diego and the University of California system have published resources to guide ethical and community-minded behavior at the university.

The UC San Diego Principles of Community, UC Standards of Ethical Behavior, and the UC Statement of Ethical Values outline how we can uphold our commitments to colleagues, students, and the public, and maintain the highest ethical standards as members of the UC San Diego community.

Three students walk together down a concrete path. They face one another, talking as they walk. On either side of the path, there are railings, and beyond the railings, some spiky trees dot the lawn. In the background, a large concrete building is visible.

The sun is setting behind Scripps Pier, with a beam of light just visible in between the structures of the pier. Dusk is approaching, and the lighting in the rest of the photo is somewhat dark. Under the pier, waves crash on the beach.
